The story goes like this:

hello!

I'm Andi, the one-woman show behind Llum Studios. I'm an ethics & sustainability fiend with eclectic taste (blame it on my Aquarius sun and Taurus moon) who wanted to create exuberant olfactory experiences that don't cost the earth. Each scent I dream up is inspired by the glimmers of my own day to day, from the standing Thursday yoga class with my friend Lucie to evenings in my kitchen baking to distract myself after sending that risky text.

Llum Studios first launched in 2020 and, after a 2 year hiatus from 2024, we're back in business, baby!

Handmade in small batches

We mix and pour every single candle and room mist by hand, in small batches in our South London kitchen.

Vegan

Every little thing that goes into a Llum product is vegan, from the oils down to the glue on our luxurious sugarcane labels.

Earth-conscious

Olive wax is clean burning and has one of the lowest carbon footprints out there. It helps that it's produced in Europe!

What even is a wax melt?

Back in 2020, I used to work in visual effects. Working at a desk. I came across a wax melt (??), went down a rabbit hole and the rest is history!

July 2020

I poured my first ever candle

After experimenting with scents and wax for 6 months, I finally poured by first ever candle. Funnily enough, that scent has made it to today as Solo Sunday.

Dec' 2020

The launch

The first ever collection was for Christmas 2020, featuring deep green glass jars and gold tin travel candles. Keep your eyes peeled for returning favourites 👀

Jan' 2021

Slumber and friends

The first core collection came out featuring the ever-bestseller, Slumber. This is when the brand's aesthetic really started to take shape.

March 2021

My first ever makers market

Definitely a pinch me moment when I first displayed my candles on a market stall in Old Spitalfields Market.

2021

Collaborations

Worked with some incredible small businesses this year, creating a bespoke candle for Victoria @ Unhidden Clothing and developed a unique scent for Glaze Me Pretty's stunning ceramics.

2021-2023

Markets & Pop-ups

I spent the next couple of years trying every market and pop-up in London, meeting incredible customers and makers.

Oct' 2022

Expanded into colour

Started playing with colour and shape, developing a line of marbled dinner candles (that don't melt in a heatwave) using rapeseed wax.

January 2024

Took a break

Life has a way of happening, so in January 2024 I took a (long) break from the home fragrance biz, but I kept making for friends and family.
